MushBerrySpot is an Android application for discovering, saving, and sharing mushroom and berry spots, viewing a nature guide, and navigating to selected places.

1. Information We Collect

We may collect the following information when you use the app:

Account information:

• email address;
• display name;
• profile avatar or photo;
• Google account profile information if you sign in with Google.

Spot information:

• mushroom or berry spot coordinates;
• selected species;
• photos added by the user;
• creation date;
• author profile information shown with the spot.

Location information:

The app may access your device location only when you choose to add a spot, center the map on your current location, or use map-related features. We do not collect your location in the background.

Photos and media:

You may choose photos from your device or take photos with the camera. Photos attached to public spots may be uploaded and shown to other signed-in users.

Reports:

If you report a spot, we may store the report reason, related spot ID, and your user ID to help moderate content.

Favorites:

The app may store information about spots you save as favorites.

Advertising data:

The app may use Google AdMob to show ads. AdMob may collect device identifiers, approximate location, app activity, and advertising-related data according to Google's policies.

2. How We Use Information

We use collected information to:

• create and manage your account;
• display your profile name and avatar;
• show mushroom and berry spots on the map;
• upload and display spot photos;
• synchronize your data between devices;
• allow other users to view public spots;
• handle reports and basic moderation;
• improve app stability and functionality;
• show advertising where applicable.

3. Sharing of Information

Some information is shared with other app users:

• public spot coordinates;
• spot photos;
• species name;
• creation date;
• public author name and avatar.

We also use third-party services:

• Firebase Authentication for sign-in;
• Firebase Firestore for database storage;
• Firebase Storage for photo storage;
• Google Maps for map display and navigation;
• Google AdMob for advertising.

We do not sell personal data.

4. Data Storage and Security

Data is stored using Firebase services and local storage on your device. We use Firebase security rules and standard encrypted connections to protect user data. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

5. Data Retention and Deletion

We keep account and spot data while your account is active or as needed to provide the app's features.

Some public content, such as spots shared with other users, may need to be removed manually after verification.

6. Children

MushBerrySpot is not directed to children under 13. If we learn that we have collected personal data from a child under 13 without appropriate consent, we will take steps to delete it.

7. Safety Notice

MushBerrySpot does not guarantee that mushrooms or berries are safe to eat. Information in the app is for reference only. Always verify species identification independently before consuming any mushroom or berry.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updates will be posted with a new "Last updated" date.
